WHAT: Press Conference on the Bipartisan Municipal Debt Reform Package (Local Government Unit Debt Act) to address financial transactions that led to the fiscal distress of Harrisburg, other municipalities, and school districts.
Senate Bill 490 – Local Government Debt Act, Senate Bill 491 – Ethics Commission and Municipal Authorities, Senate Bill 492 – “Swaps” Restrictions, Senate Bill 493 – Performance Bonds and Municipal Debt, and; to-be-introduced Senate Bills 694 – Amend the Commonwealth Attorneys Act, 695 – Amend the statute of limitations regarding public officials and employees and Senate Bill 696 – Expand Public Bidding Requirements.
