DiSanto to Lead Senate Aging and Youth Committee

HARRISBURG — State Senator John DiSanto (Dauphin/Perry) has been appointed Chairman of the Senate Aging and Youth Committee for the 2019-20 legislative session by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati.

Senator DiSanto is a longtime proponent of providing high quality educational opportunities for children, both as a member of the legislature and through private philanthropy. He has also been a staunch supporter of replacing the burdensome school property tax to safeguard seniors living on fixed incomes from losing their homes.

“I am greatly honored to chair the committee dedicated to the wellbeing of our children and seniors,” DiSanto said. “Our children are our most valuable resource and will determine our future. We must support young families’ health and educational needs so that our youth are ready to succeed in a global economy and engage in meaningful ways in their local communities.”

“We must also recognize all that seniors have contributed to us, and we owe it to them to ensure Pennsylvania is a state where they can enjoy a retirement on their own terms. Pennsylvania’s aging demographics require the General Assembly be good stewards of all available resources to ensure reliable and accessible services for our seniors.”

“I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues on policies that make Pennsylvania a better place for both young and old, where generations of families want to live and work.”
