Senate and House Hold Joint Hearing on Elder Abuse Monitoring System

Harrisburg – The Senate Aging and Youth Committee, chaired by Senator John DiSanto (Dauphin/Perry), will hold a joint public hearing next week with the House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee on the county based system for monitoring elder abuse in Pennsylvania.

The joint panel will review the Office of State Inspector General’s Report on the Department of Aging’s County Based System for Monitoring Elder Abuse. Testimony will be offered by State Inspector General Bruce Beemer, Acting Aging Secretary Robert Torres, and staff from the Temple University Institute on Protective Services and from two county Area Agencies on Aging. The hearing will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29 in the Capitol’s Senate Majority Caucus Room.
